A client requested a unified set of icons to illustrate each room in the Kleist Center for Art and Drama located at Baldwin Wallace University. The illustrations were made to guide visitors through the building and enhance their understanding and experience of the space. Each icon needs to work along and together on different surfaces such as brick or glass in one color. The goal is to create a clean but creative look to the icons to reflect the creativity that is expressed in the building. This was achieved by having elements break out of the box and using the negative space to add movement and interest to the Art Department. Using a combination of curves and lines, the icons not only work individually, but as a family.
